How to view the peskie winmail.dat files your windows mates keep sending
you.

Create a script in your home drive:

#!/bin/ksh
if [ ! -d ~/winmail ];then
mkdir ~/winmail
fi

if [ ! -f ~/winmail/winmail.dat ];then
echo 'no winmail file please save as from mail to folder winmail'
echo Press enter to continue
read
exit 1
fi
tnef --overwrite -C ~/winmail -f ~/winmail/winmail.dat
rm ~/winmail/winmail.dat

I finally figured it out. Switch to gmail, and all your windat problems are over. Alternatively, as the sender to set the outlook properties to always send attachments as attachments.
